Jewish Apartments and Services Volunteer Opportunities
Provided by: Jewish Apartments and Services JAS offers a variety of volunteer opportunities in many programs and activities, including a prescription program for seniors with low incomes and Friends and Family Association to enhance the quality of life of JAS residents.
Jewish Community Center Volunteer Opportunities
Provided by: Jewish Community Center The JCC offers numerous volunteer opportunities in all its departments.
Jewish Community Chaplaincy Program
Provided by: Jewish Home and Aging Services The Chaplaincy Program provides training for those who are willing to serve as parachaplains to Jewish residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
Jewish Family Services Volunteer Opportunities
Provided by: Jewish Family Service JFS has opportunities for volunteers to do friendly visits, to assist with grocery and other shopping and to serve as escorts. Volunteers are needed to provide help with minor home repairs. There are also a variety of volunteer opportunities within the agency and with non-elderly clients.
Jewish Home and Aging Services Volunteer Corps
Provided by: Jewish Home and Aging Services JHAS has a strong volunteer corps, which provides many opportunities for those interested in working with frail Jewish older adults.

The Guardianship Program has opportunities for volunteers to work with and advocate for guardianship clients. Responsibilities include friendly visiting and helping to monitor clients’ well-being.
Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network
Provided by: Jewish Home and Aging Services The Jewish Hospice and Chaplaincy Network offers opportunities for volunteers who are able to work with and bring comfort to patients with terminal illness and their families.
JVS Volunteer Opportunities
Provided by: JVS JVS offers volunteer opportunities in many of its programs in Southfield and West Bloomfield. Volunteers can assist with clerical tasks, program outings and activities or provide individual visits to program participants.
Minor Home Repairs
Provided by: Jewish Family Service Volunteers assist on a limited basis with minor home repairs, such as changing light bulbs, fixing screens, simple plumbing and electrical work. The cost of any required materials is the responsibility of the older adult.
Phone Friends
Provided by: Jewish Family Service A phone reassurance program for adults who could benefit from regular phone contact from a volunteer.
Senior Service Corps
Provided by: JVS JVS offers older adults volunteer opportunities at community agencies and hospitals. Participants perform valuable community services while maintaining a sense of personal worth. Placements can be of an individual or group nature, depending on the preferences of the volunteers. Transportation is available.
