Jewish Apartments & Services (JAS) is dedicated to providing an essential need: safe and affordable housing and supportive services that embody the commandment to "honor thy mother and father."

Since its inception more than 30 years ago, Jewish Apartments and Services has worked together with Federation to provide welcoming and loving homes – apartments and services-- designed to maintain the independence and quality of life for those growing in years.

JAS provides residences and services which support the quality of life for more than 900 older adults who are able to function independently and maintain their own homes. JAS provide both market rate and subsidized senior adult apartments, daily meals, transportation and personal care assistance in seven facilities on the Alfred Taubman Jewish Community Campus in Oak Park and the Eugene and Marcia Applebaum Jewish Community Campus in West Bloomfield.

ElderLink programs provided by Jewish Apartments and Services:

JCare: In-home support assistance is available to JAS residents. Services include personal care assistance, medication reminders, meal preparation, assurance checks, tuck-in service, shower/ bath assistance, companionship and escort. Services are provided in various increments and can be customized.
Jewish Apartments and Services Volunteer Opportunities: JAS offers a variety of volunteer opportunities in many programs and activities, including a prescription program for seniors with low incomes and Friends and Family Association to enhance the quality of life of JAS residents.
Margot and Warren Coville Apartments: The Coville Apartments Program, located within Prentis Jewish Apartments on the A. Alfred Taubman Jewish Community Campus in Oak Park, offers a congregate living experience that allows older adults to remain in an independent setting while also providing supervision and personalized care.
New American Services: Services are available for New Americans living in the Jewish Apartments & Services buildings in Oak Park. In conjunction with Jewish Family Service, citizenship classes are offered. JAS employs bilingual translators and social workers that assist with adjustment issues, everyday translation needs and obtaining community resources and government entitlements.
Supportive Housing for Older Adults: Buildings are located in West Bloomfield and Oak Park accommodate older adults who are able to function independently and maintain their own living quarters. One required kosher meal a day is provided five days a week. Additional services (e.g. housekeeping, transportation, weekend meals and case management) are available as well.
